In occupied Kashmir, protests will be held today after Juma prayers against the Indian government’s plan to abrogate Article 35-A of the Indian constitution.

Call for the protests has been given by the Grand Mufti-designate, Mufti Naserul-Islam. The Joint Resistance Leadership and trade bodies have called for shutdown on Sunday and Monday to protest the assault on the Article.

Article 35-A, which defines the permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir, is listed before the Indian Supreme Court for hearing on Monday.
