Indian police have threatened to initiate legal action against BBC for exposing the Modi regime’s crackdown on journalists in Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The threat comes after BBC published an article titled ‘Any story could be your last’ highlighting the level of intimidation faced by Kashmiri journalists in the territory.
Meanwhile, traders staged a protest demonstration in Srinagar against policies of Modi regime which have made it hard for them to earn livelihood in a dignified way.
Meanwhile, the traders including vendors were carrying placards and chanted slogans against the Indian government’s discriminatory economic policies in the occupied territory.
They complained that the authorities have forcibly demolished their shops on baseless charges and they were unable to even pay their children’s school fees.
On the other hand, All Parties Hurriyat Conference has urged the international community to play its role in securing release of the illegaly detained Hurryat leaders and activists.
In their statements issued in Srinagar today, APHC leaders Khawaja Firdous, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Muhammad Shafi Lone and the student wing of Democratic Freedom Party deplored that Hurriyat leaders and activists have been illegally imprisoned for demanding their rights.
Moreover, an Indian Central Reserve Police Force man committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Ramban district.
