In Kabul, at least fourteen people were killed and two policemen injured when a suicide bomber tried to hit a gathering of religious scholars.
According to police ,the bombing happened soon after the clerics had issued a fatwa against suicide bombings and called for peace talks to end the ongoing war.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
Meanwhile, at least three children were killed in a roadside bomb blast in eastern Nangarhar province.
Provincial governor office said in a statement the children are between 12 to 13 years older.
Two policemen were also killed and one wounded during a clash with Taliban in Ferozkoh western Ghor province.
