Masood Khalid (Former Ambassador): Pak-China relations are as strong as ever. The recent visit of China's Vice Premier He Lifeng to Pakistan was important in context of a clear signal from Beijing that irrespective of any political change in Pakistan, China will continue to work with the country for its economic revival. It was an opportunity for both the countries to review the progress on development projects under China Pakistan Economic Corridor and plan a way forward for timely completion of ongoing projects. The next phase of CPEC will focus on agriculture, science and technology and other sectors. It is good development that both China and Pakistan maintain high-level interactions. Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in telephonic conversation with his Chinese counterpart thanked China for assisting Pakistan in overcoming its economic challenges. It is an ongoing relation that will continue to flourish at regional and global levels.
