Ali Salman (Analyst): Pakistan and China have over $20 billion bilateral trade tune.
Economic cooperation between Pakistan and China is strengthening with the passage of
every day. China-Pakistan economic relations are game changer and we are having great
opportunity to get economic benefits from this game changing factor. First of all we have to
learn producing surplus and quality of products. We must learn about the demands and
supply chain of Chinese markets. We may also learn from Chinese research in agriculture
and technology sectors. We have great collaboration in infrastructure sector and Gwadar
Port is one of this reflection. Recently both the countries agreed that 1000 Pakistani
professionals would be trained in China. We have to ensure benefit from those who are
trained in China. We must also allure Chinese investors and businesses to Pakistan to
benefit from bilateral ties.
Zamir Asadi (Expert): Over $25 billion investment has been made under the first phase of
China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and both the countries completed this process
in cordial atmosphere. Both the countries are committed to further cement bilateral
cooperation to take these projects forward under the second phase of CPEC. Now China is
going to double its investment in Pakistan. In this regard, foreign investment in our
agricultural and industrial sectors will create millions of jobs for Pakistanis. We are
required to accelerate our exports to China in specified sectors. Chinese start New Year
with commitment to take the development projects and plans forward. Chinese people
move to their hometowns to celebrate the New Year holidays. Millions of people undertake
travel and Chinese trains and airplanes take people to their hometowns very smoothly.
Thus it is declared the biggest human migration in the world. This year New Year is
celebrated as the year of Snake. Chinese try to highlight the virtues of animals with which
they relate their new year.
