Diplomats hail US investors’ visit to Pakistan
January 29, 2025

Najmuddin Shaikh (Former Foreign Secretary):  The visit of the US investors to Pakistan is a

very good step because we want foreign investment in Pakistan. We are required to build the

confidence of the international investors in our terms and conditions for investment and

continuity of economic and investment policies. In this regard we are required to remove flaws

and lacunas from our investment policies. Presently Pakistan is engaged in a development program with International Monetary Fund (IMF) so we need to have good relations with the United States due to the US influence over IMF. Trump administration is least focused and concerned about South Asia; even the US is engaging with India on the issue of illegal Indian migrants.

Masood Khalid (Former Ambassador): Visit of US delegation to Pakistan is a welcoming

significant geographical location. I hope this visit will produce positive results in the form of

enhanced business collaboration and joint ventures. We have to continue our efforts to facilitate

the foreign investors to invest in Pakistan. So far we have received much bigger investment

portfolio from China in the projects under the flagship of China Pakistan Economic Corridor

(CPEC). Now the US also seems to be interested in making investments in Pakistan. Actually

Pakistani market offers huge potential of profits to foreign companies.
