Nasir Abbas Sherazi (Senior Analyst on Middle East): The Israeli government has been conducting multiple invasions in Gaza and the West Bank, resulting in numerous civilian casualties. In response to a number of Israeli aggressions, Palestinians, with limited resources, have taken this action. Hamas that controls Gaza has made it clear that it will not tolerate unilateral Israeli actions. Israel is known for its advanced technology, undeclared nuclear capabilities, and missile defense systems in the region. However, this was a surprise attack by Hamas that inflicted significant casualties on the Israeli military. Hamas managed to reclaim a substantial area from Israeli occupation, catching Israeli military and intelligence forces off guard. Israeli forces have been imposing inhuman restrictions on Palestinians' ability to pray at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The Arab world and other Muslim nations around the world have called for a normalization of the situation, as tensions escalate. Currently, several Israeli personnel are in captivity of Hamas. In past, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and other international organizations have been condemning Israeli aggression against Palestinians. It is important to remember that every conflict ultimately finds resolution through negotiations, and this ongoing Palestine-Israel conflict is no exception.
Dr. Zahid Anwar Khan (IR Expert): Israel's flagrant disregard for international norms and UN resolutions concerning the Palestine issue is a matter of great concern. The global Muslim community, known as the Ummah, has expressed deep apprehension regarding the escalating tensions between Israel and Palestine. In this context, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) should take proactive steps to address the situation. The Palestinian people are enduring the deprivation of their fundamental rights and the loss of their homeland. It is incumbent upon the United Nations to enforce its resolutions pertaining to the Palestine issue and put an end to Israel's aggressive policies in order to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian population. To address the root cause of the conflict, which is the occupation of Palestinian territories by Israel, it is essential to seek a resolution in accordance with the parameters previously agreed upon by the United Nations.
