Dr. Huma Baqai (IR Expert): It is not the first time that India is violating international laws. India has adopted a belligerent approach and is using water as a weapon against Pakistan. India is well aware of the fact that it cannot violate the Indus Water Treaty openly, so it is playing water diplomacy against Pakistan. Pakistan needs to adopt proactive diplomacy and mature and sagacious professionals must be appointed to fight the case of Pakistan on the Indus Water Treaty. The World Bank is the guarantor of this agreement and it should ensure that its decisions on Indus Water Treaty are implemented.
