The United Nations has reiterated its concerns over human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The concerns were expressed by the UN Deputy Spokesperson, Farhan Haq, during his briefing in New York, while responding to a question about India's unilateral action on August 5, 2019, to abolish special status of Jammu and Kashmir in violation of the UN resolutions and international law.
Farhan Haq said the concerns still stand which have already been expressed by the United Nations, including through the office of High Commissioner for Human rights, concerning human rights situation in Kashmir.
Diplomats said the UN Deputy Spokesperson's statement, expressing concern over human rights situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, clearly refutes New Delhi's claim of "normalcy" in the occupied territory.
