Modi government has attached at least 193 properties of the oppressed people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir since 2023.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the properties were attached to punish the Kashmiris for their affiliation with the ongoing freedom movement.
This practice of confiscating Kashmiris’ properties under draconian laws has escalated since the revocation of IIOJK’s special status in August 2019.
Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the Modi-led Indian regime's claims of normalcy in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas argued that the Modi regime has enforced a militarized normalcy in the territory through its massive military presence and repressive measures.
He pointed out that Indian government's claims of peace and normalcy are belied by the daily occurrences of cordon-and-search operations, crackdowns, raids, and arbitrary arrests.
Abdul Rashid Minhas reiterated that peace will continue to elude Kashmir and South Asia until the Kashmiri people are granted their inalienable right to self-determination. He demanded that India allow UN observers and global human rights bodies to visit IIOJK to assess the ground situation.
