It is a great achievement that the government managed to eliminate the clause of take or pay in agreements with IPPs. It means whether the IPP produces electricity or not, consumes energy or not, the government is bound to

pay the electricity cost to the IPPs. Such clauses are eliminated with the mutual consensus of the stakeholders. It will support the government in production of cheaper electricity that will boost industrial production. The

government is focusing on renewable energy sources including wind, solar and hydro power generation.
