Analysts urge religious scholars to play role in promoting education among females
January 11, 2025

 Dr Zahid Anwar Khan (Educationist):

Empowerment of women is top-most priority of the government. So, the government has undertaken a large number of initiatives. These initiatives are of vital significance because of the fact that women make almost 50% of our population, so depriving them from the education will be tantamount to depriving half of our population from education. The International Conference on Female Education is also one of these initiatives. It is essential to impart quality education to our women to enable them fully participate in the national development. Our religion is not a hurdle in the way of female education but vested interests of some elements are main hurdles in this regard. Pakistan is a model country for other regional countries as it has taken many steps for the empowerment of women.

Dr  Raghab Hussain Naeemi (Religious Scholar):

The International Conference on Female Education is a significant step because our religion advocates education for everyone irrespective of gender. Muslim women earned immense fame by getting education even in initial times. The religious scholars must highlight the need of woman education through mass awareness campaigns from mosques and religious seminaries. In this regard, the religious scholars should use all the available resources and platforms. The clerics and leaders of the religious segments of the society should also come up with a clear cut statement on female education to sensitize and motivate people with lesser education. They should sensitize people for educating their female children.
