Brig (Retd) Said Nazir (Defense Expert): The peace and stability in Pakistan is directly linked with the stability in Afghanistan. At its end, Pakistan is making all out efforts to convince the international community to get engaged with the new Afghan government. Unfortunately, the interim Afghan government is unable to control the terrorist activities as its soil is still being used by the terrorist outfits for the nefarious designs against Pakistan. It is a fact that the stakes of Afghanistan in Pakistan are more than any other country. Pakistan is still hosting a huge number of Afghan refugees. It is the need of the hour that both Pakistan and Afghanistan through intelligence sharing must take strict actions against the culprits trying to create misunderstandings between two neighboring countries.

Dr. Zahid Anwar Khan (IR Expert): Pakistan always supported every effort taken for regional peace. Stability and peace is mandatory for the economic development of the region. Pakistan has always endorsed the collective efforts for Afghan peace.It is an important development that a high-level Pakistani delegation led by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar is going to participate in the 4th meeting of the Neighboring Countries of Afghanistan to be held in Samarkand. Many important stakeholders will also participate in the meeting. Pakistan always remained engaged in activities for a peaceful and stable Afghanistan. Basically, the Neighboring Countries of Afghanistan mechanism was established years back and it was the initiative of Pakistan. The Foreign Office Spokesperson rightly stated that Pakistan supports peace, stability and sovereignty of Pakistan. We must be hopeful for the positive outcomes of this important meeting.
