The United Nations Security Council has underscored a persistent threat of the TTP to the security of Pakistan and the region.

In its annual report, the Security Council said the link between Al-Qaeda and TTP remains strong and symbiotic.

The report said  al-Qaeda is rebuilding its operational capability and the TTP is launching attacks into Pakistan. It said groups of foreign fighters are projecting threat across Afghanistan's borders.

On the other hand, Interim Government of Afghanistan has dismissed the report and called it full of prejudice and far from reality.

In a statement, the Interim Afghan Government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said they are committed to their promises and that there is no threat from Afghanistan to neighboring, regional and world countries.
