Dr. Zahid Anwar Khan (IR Expert): Pakistan’s relations with Central Asian countries have steadily improved. All five nations Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan enjoy good ties with Pakistan. Tajikistan’s Gorno-Badakshan region and Chitral are very close to each other. Tajik language is very similar to Persian and Dari. The visit of Emomali Rahmon will further strengthen ties between the two countries in diverse areas, including trade and culture. There is a huge demand of Pakistani pharma and sports products in Tajikistan. CASA project can be made successful due to cooperation between Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Central Asian countries consider Pakistan an important country in terms of population and defense and Islamabad has always played a pivotal role in peace and stability in the region. Regional connectivity will benefit all regional countries economically.
