Analysts hail strong voice of OIC over hijab ban, Islamophobic incidents in India

Dr. Rasheed Ahmed Khan (IR Expert): The international community has started taking notice of the religious extremism in pseudo-secular India. A considerable number of states have officially denounced the radical policies of BJP in India. The basic principle of democracy has been shunned out rightly by the Modi-led government in India which has drawn flaks from the international community. Although, there have been some unfortunate incidents of mob-justice in Pakistan, but there is an unequivocal difference between Islamabad and New-Delhi as such incidents are officially condemned by Pakistan. In the case of India, the Modi-led government is playing the role of a silent spectator. The silence of the central government of India implies their compliance with fundamentalism. The sane voices from India have heavily criticized Modi for his absurd and radical policies. The mainstream media as well as the government in India is occupied by the religious fanatics that will soon draw India back to the medieval age, if left unstopped.

Mirza Ikhtiyar Baig (Economist): It was the top-priority of the government to improvise the banking channel of Pakistan. The economic growth of a country is directly dependent on the credibility of the banking channels as they provide documentation of the flow of money.  The recent development in which the federal government has launched an application named "Raast ID" will ensure inclusivity in the banking system. The tax base of Pakistan will also be enhanced as the tax will be automatically collected once people start using banking channels for transactions. Moreover, digitalization of the banking system was the need of the hour in the epoch of massive globalization. The tax to GDP ratio will eventually increase and that will relieve the deteriorating economic conditions. There is a dire need to inform the general public about the digital banking system to extract maximum benefit from this policy.

Dr. Asmat Ullah (Religious Scholar): The mindset of the masses is being radicalized and such fragments of the society should be dealt with an iron hand. There is no justification in Islam for killing an individual accused of blasphemy without any investigation. The teachings of Prophet Muhammad SAW show us that a Muslim should not harm any individual until proven guilty. There is a dire need to establish a committee of religious scholars and Ulema to deal with such issues. Legislation is the only way out from such mob-killings. Even in Islam, a person accused of blasphemy should be produced brought before court. The government of Pakistan has actively responded to this unfortunate incident and will punish those who overstepped the writ of the state.
