Amb. Ghulam Rasool Baloch (Former Diplomat):Russia, a key member of UNSC, remains an important global player. Both Pakistan and Russia are diversifying their relationship over the years. So visit of Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev to Pakistan is very important because Pakistan highly values ties with Eurasian countries especially Russia. Moreover, Russia has good leverage over Taliban regime so Pakistan definitely has raised issue of terrorism emanating from Afghan soil which is greatly harming Pakistan and threatening the global peace and order. I am sure that Russia can be requested to raise this issue with Taliban regime because Russia can pursue it easily. Furthermore, Russia can also hold Moscow Format like discussions on terrorism in the region. Furthermore, it may be good idea to have collaboration with Russia to track and trace out terrorists through technological collaboration. Pakistan-Russia relations are at the cost of any other country’s relations or they are not against any other country.
