Dr. Mirza Numan Ali (Economic Expert):  Keeping Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority’s key role in view in the promotion of business activities the country Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has very rightly directed SMEDA to formulate a comprehensive strategy for providing financial support to small and medium-sized industries and entrepreneurs across the country. Basically, small and medium enterprises are carrying out majority of business activities in Pakistan. Moreover, small and medium enterprises are also playing key role in boosting economy at local level in Pakistan. This is why; every country offers more and more incentives to small and medium enterprises. Now Prime Minister has also asked SMEDA to extend maximum facilitations to small and medium enterprises.  Small and medium enterprises in rural areas require more attention of the government like China. Small and medium enterprises are also vital for mega businesses for being base. Presently majority of small and medium enterprises are unregistered and out of tax net. Moreover, small and medium enterprises’ share in economic growth is not recognized.
