APHC slams revocation of IIOJK's special status
October 18, 2024

All Parties Hurriyat Conference has asserted that the BJP-led Indian government's decision of revoking the special status of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir was intended to undermine the identity of Kashmiris and facilitate the implementation of its Hindutva agenda in the territory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas said this during a meeting of Hurriyat leaders in Srinagar.

Concerns were raised about a resolution passed in the first cabinet meeting chaired by IIOJK’s so-called Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, which focused solely on restoring statehood for the occupied territory.

The APHC argued that neglecting the restoration of special status amounts to endorsing illegal Modi regime’s illegal actions.

Meanwhile, Indian troops have continued their cordon and search operations in different areas of Islamabad, Shopian, Rajouri and Poonch districts causing fears among residents.
