Najam us Saqib (Former Diplomat): The upcoming visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Russia is of key significance. Prime Minister’s meeting with President Putin will happen when Moscow is busy in Ukraine crisis. It will be a watershed moment in Pak-Russia relations. Great warmth is being witnessed in recent months between Moscow and Islamabad. There is convergence of interest between the two countries on a number of issues. Issues like Afghanistan, India, Russia-US confrontation over Ukraine and US-China trade war will come under discussion. Iran, Pakistan, China, Russia and Central Asian States can work together to play a positive role in Afghanistan. We also need support of Russia on Jammu and Kashmir issue where India is violating the human rights of Kashmiris.
Dr. A. Z. Hilali (IR Expert): Prime Minister has spent enough time in the United Kingdom and Europe where the public opinion matters a lot and public issues are on the priority of the government. Pakistan Citizen’s Portal launched by the present government is a great initiative where the common man has the right to complain. The portal has become one of the most effective mediums for complaints. The portal is one of its kind in the country that has connected the government and people of Pakistan. Moreover, the incumbent government has also taken certain measures and introduced programs to facilitate the overseas Pakistanis. Overseas Pakistanis are the most precious asset of the country and are contributing a lot in the economic development. The overseas Pakistanis can also use the forum of Pakistan Citizen's Portal which is an integrated citizens’ grievance redress system connecting all government organizations, both at federal and provincial levels.
Dr. Zahid Anwar Khan (IR Expert): Keeping in view the current regional and global scenario as the world is transforming from unipolar to bipolar or multipolar, Pakistan needs an active policy. The foreign policy of Pakistan is moving in the right direction as Islamabad wants normalization of ties with the United States and is also strengthening its bilateral relations with Russia and other powers. It is a good omen that Pakistan is prioritizing its national interests. The visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Moscow will be vital with regard to prevailing Russia-Ukraine tensions. Pakistan is aiming to strengthen its trade relations with other countries on equal footings and does not want to be involved or intervene in conflicts of other countries.
Shaukat Fayaz Ahmed Tarin (Finance Minister): Prime Minister Imran Khan is following his vision to empower the people of Pakistan on the pattern of Riyasat-e-Madinah. A number of schemes have been launched for common man like health card, Ehsaas portal and other schemes. Prime Minister is an upright and transparent person unlike previous rulers who made money through corrupt practices. Overseas Pakistanis have a special place in the eyes of Prime Minister Imran Khan and a number of incentives have been launched to facilitate them, including granting them right to vote, Roshan Digital Accounts and resolving their issues related to property on priority basis.
