Dr. Zahid Anwar (IR Expert): PM Shahbaz Sharif chaired a meeting regarding CPEC projects and issued directives to ensure the implementation of the projects. Such meetings on CPEC are very vital for the completion of the projects. The involvement of higher institutions in such matters leave a position impact on the projects and help remove bureaucratic and other challengers.
Different institutions of Pakistan govt are responsible for the CPEC projects. Coordination and cooperation among these institutions can result in timely completion of the projects. If such projects, like Special Economic Zones in different cities and all the projects of Phase II of CPEC, like industrialization, reach to completion than they will subsequently create job opportunities for local people and will give incentives to foreign investors and will bring economic stability in the country.
CPEC Consortium of Universities have also been formed in collaboration with Pakistani and Chinese higher education. Top universities of both the countries are the members of the consortium who hold annual meetings which provide a guideline for students to explore different fields of study in China. China is also giving scholarships to students due to which a very large number of Pakistani students are acquiring degrees in relevant fields and are coming back to Pakistan and taking part in the development of the country.
