China and Afghanistan have pledged to strengthen cooperation and vowed to combat terrorism.

Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang held a phone conversation with acting foreign minister of the Afghan interim government Amir Khan Muttaqi.

Qin Gang said that China highly values developing good-neighbourliness, friendship and cooperation with Afghanistan, and always respects the independent choices made by the Afghan people and their religious beliefs and ethnic customs.

Amir Khan Muttaqi Muttaqi said that Afghanistan will resolutely combat all forms of terrorism and take strong measures to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel and institutions in Afghanistan.
