February 22, 2023

Salman Ghani (Senior Journalist) Pakistan is currently facing the biggest challenge of economic crisis. The Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced measures regarding sufficiency of privileges used by the higher government officials. The facilities being provided to high government officials should be minimized in order to overcome the current economic deficit. The prices of basic commodities such as petrol, electricity and food are increasing rapidly and these steps will definitely help the government to control its expenses. Prime Minister is very strict about administrative expenditures, as earlier we have seen his performance in Punjab during his tenure as the Chief Minister. He along with his companion has worked efficiently to provide relief to the masses. The agreements of previous government with IMF are responsible for uncontrolled inflation in the country. But the incumbent government has hailed that by adopting positive reforms and policies, we can take the country towards stability.

Dr. Mirza Ishtiaq Baig (Economist) The business community has unanimously welcomed the decision taken by the government and hailed to provide as much as assistance as they could. The high class people have to sacrifices their luxuries so that their brothers and sisters can survive in such devastating economic situation. The IMF will definitely appreciate these concrete steps. The Prime Minister several times offered the opposition to hold dialogues for stabilizing the economy but in response, they have always criticized the government.

Hafiz Shafique Kashif (Businessman) The decision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on restricting perks and privileges of the government officials is being appreciated by the people. As we are facing the biggest challenge of economic crisis, therefore people are expecting assistance from the government. As far as the timing of early closure of shops is concerned, a specific time won't hurt the businessmen and the consumers but steps in this regard should be taken systematically on permanent basis.
