In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Modi-led Hindutva regime disallowed Muslims from offering Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar today.
Indian army troops, paramilitary and police personnel were deployed in Nowhatta areas of the city to prevent people from offering Eid prayers in the grand mosque of the territory.
Earlier, people raised “Go India Go Back” and “We Want Freedom” slogans during Fajar prayers today. Similar slogans were raised during Isha prayers outside the mosque.
Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid, the managing body of the historic mosque, already had announced that Eid-ul-Fitr prayer would be held at 9:00a.m while the regime after wards denied permission.
