Dr. A. Z. Hilali (IR Expert): There is no doubt that Israel committed worst brutalities in recent clashes with Palestinians. Some international analysts are comparing the policies of India and Israel. Just like Narendra Modi, who uses anti-Pakistan sentiments in India to get votes, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is using conflict with Palestinians to get elected in next elections. What Israel has done in Palestine is the carbon copy of what Narendra Modi is doing in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Protests in various countries against Israeli aggression put extra pressure on Jewish state to go for the ceasefire. But we have observed a changed trend in public opinion across the globe. The role of Muslim and the civilized world cannot be ignored. UAE and Qatar also expressed concerns over Israeli aggression. The role of Pakistan and Turkey in this regard is also of vital importance. Now, it is time to ensure the implementation of two-nation theory in the territory as per UN resolutions for sustained and permanent peace and prosperity. However, the international community must also urge the world powers to compensate the sufferings and losses of Palestinians that occurred during the recent Israeli brutal attacks.

Mushtaq Ahmed Mehar (Former Ambassador): The neighbouring Muslim countries of Palestine including Jordan and Egypt have recognized Israel as a state. The recent violence and human rights violations committed by Israeli forces are highly condemnable. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi effectively highlighted Palestine issue at the UN General Assembly forum. The international forces must be deployed in the territory to avoid any aggression from both sides in future or an agreement must be signed between Israel and Palestine not to interfere in each other's territories. Moreover, the way the Israeli aggression is portrayed by the international media was never done in the past. It means the public opinion has changed. Even the Jewish community across the globe also protested against the acts of Israeli government. Israel has done a great damage in Palestine. The World Food Programme has warned that over 160,000 people in Gaza have been pushed into food insecurity. The world must ensure the provision of basic commodities to the people of Gaza.
