Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh (Economist): It is very important that charter of economy is signed by all political parties to take the country forward. All the PDM parties have been advocating for this charter as it is need of the hour. They also asked the previous government of PTI to take a step in this regard but they did not pay heed to it. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also given full emphasis on it. The government has set up a committee for facilitation of business and economy that also includes Army Chief. The purpose of this committee is to facilitate coordination between various departments for smooth flow of investment and trade. The Prime Minister has also time and again emphasized to all political parties to sit together and work on economy for the greater good of the country.

Dr. A. Z. Hilali (Socio-Economic Expert): The economy of a country sets the direction of progress and prosperity of a nation. There have been many ups and downs in the politics of Pakistan. We need to focus on economy as it will improve many areas of the country. Unless, we steer the direction of economy right and build it on strong footings, all other sectors will continue suffering. The indicator of a country’s strength and power is its economy. The revival of IMF program is a good omen for the country. But, we need to build a strong indigenous economy. It will help create more job opportunities and prosperity. Many small nations have gone up by building their economies.
