Members of Kashmir civil society have rejected the brutal measures taken by the Modi regime in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir after August 2019 stating that they would not compromise on the UN-acknowledged right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.
After a meeting in Srinagar, the civil society members told media that outsiders will never be accepted as citizens on basis of so-called domicile certificates, distributed to them by the Bharatiya Janata Party regime.
They warned that the BJP-RSS nexus is playing with fire by amending domicile law aimed at changing the demography of the occupied territory.
They said India had snatched the identity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir by abrogating Articles 370 and 35A.
Meanwhile, regional political parties have demanded the lifting of restrictions, during the holy month of Muharram.
National Conference spokesman questioned the ban on Muharram processions in Kashmir, especially at a time when Hindu processions like Amarnath Yatra and Janmashtami are allowed and facilitated by the authorities.
On the other hand, Hurriyat AJK leaders from Jammu region at a meeting in Islamabad paid glowing tributes to prominent liberation leader, Haji Noor Hussain of Pir Panjal on his martyrdom anniversary, today.
Indian troops had martyred Haji Noor Hussain, alias Daryai Baba, in Mandhar area of Poonch district on this day in 2001.
