Dr. Abdul Basit (Historian): Nation is celebrating the 145th birth anniversary of great leader Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Quaid-e-Azam gave strength to the Pakistan Movement and his party Pakistan Muslim League emerged as the single largest party, which represented the Muslims of sub-continent. He was a great leader who succeeded to alter the course of history and created a separate homeland for Muslims of sub-continent. He sensitized the British about the rationale of Pakistan and convinced them to divide the sub-continent into two nations. He believed in democracy and Constitution. Mr. Jinnah advocated the guiding principles of faith, unity and discipline. He delivered a strong message to the nation that with unity and selfless devotion, there is nothing worthwhile that you cannot achieve. He was a visionary leader and could see that Hindus and Muslims are two different nations and Muslims cannot survive safely under the dominance of Indian Hindu. Now, it is our moral responsibility to act upon the golden principles given by Quaid-e-Azam, who always worked hard for the betterment of our motherland, which was attained after rendering matchless sacrifices of our forefathers.
Dr. Rasheed Ahmed Khan (IR Expert): It is rightly said that no power on earth can undo Pakistan. Despite all the challenges and opposition of Congress, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah remained successful in attaining a separate state for Muslims of sub-continent. He was a visionary statesman and always urged a state where minorities can freely fulfill their religious obligations. The issue of Kashmir was raised in the last days of Quaid e Azam, but he emphasized on the importance of Kashmir for Pakistan by saying that Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan. Kashmir is not just a land or a group of people, but integral for the existence of Pakistan. Kashmir right from the beginning was very important for the creation of Pakistan. Quaid-e-Azam supported the Kashmir cause even before the independence of Pakistan. It was his desire that Kashmiris especially Muslims should get their socio economic rights and justice. The issue of Israel was very close to the heart of Mr. Jinnah. He always stood firm for the rights of the Palestinians and raised the issue of Palestine at every international forum.
Dr. Qibla Ayaz (Chairman, Council of Islamic Ideology): Today the Christian community is celebrating Christmas all over the world and in Pakistan as well. Islam gives us the message of love, tolerance and religious harmony. The constitution of Pakistan gives complete freedom to our Christian citizens to perform their religious obligations freely. The minorities in Pakistan are living peacefully and playing their positive role for the development of Pakistan. Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah made it clear that all the citizens of Pakistan are equal in front of law and state has nothing to do with any ones religious beliefs. In contrast, the minorities in Modi's India are forced to live as third class citizens.
