In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has paid tribute to the 27 innocent Kashmiris on the 31st martyrdom anniversary of the gruesome Kupwara massacre.   

According to Kashmir Media Service, the massacre occurred as a retaliatory measure against the residents of Kupwara for observing a shutdown on Indian Republic Day, January 26, 1994.

Locals gathered at the Martyrs' Graveyard in Kupwara, today, to pay their respects and offer prayers for the victims and other Kashmiri martyrs.

APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, expressed deep regret over the lack of accountability for the Indian troops involved in the massacre.

He called on international human rights organizations to play an active role in securing justice for the victims.
