Hurriyat leadership condemns upcoming elections in IIOJK
August 28, 2024

In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Modi led Indian government has seized property of two more Kashmiris in Kupwara district.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian police confiscated lands of Asad Mir and Manzoor Ahmad Qureshi for their affiliation with the freedom struggle.

Since the abrogation of special status of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019, the Modi government started the nefarious series of confiscation of houses, lands and other properties of Kashmiris to weaken them economically.

As part of the Indian government's intensified crackdown, the authorities have arrested six more Kashmiri youth, including a minor, in the territory.

The arrests were made during cordon and search operation in Kulgam district. The youth have been booked under the black law, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Meanwhile, the top jailed Hurriyat leadership has strongly condemned the upcoming elections in the occupied territory, calling them sham and an attempt to legitimize New Delhi's illegal occupation.

In their separate statements from Delhi's Tihar Jail, APHC leaders said the elections, held under the shadow of over a million Indian occupation troops, are nothing more than a farce and a military exercise.

They said the Modi government is attempting to reshape the territory's electoral and demographic landscape, stripping it of its genuine political representation.

In a separate incident, dialysis patients in Srinagar protested against the Indian government's decision to close dialysis centers, which would leave hundreds without access to life-saving treatment.
