Analysts urge need to explain to West the love of Muslims for Holy Prophet (PBUH)
October 28, 2020

Ali Muhammad Khan (Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs): Love for Prophet Muhammad  Sallāllāhu Alayhi Wa Sallam is something closest to hearts of billions of Muslims across the globe. Prime Minister Imran Khan is continuously highlighting this issue at all world forums. In his address at UNGA last year, Prime Minister discussed the issue of Islamophobia in detail and its increasing trend that is hurting the Muslim Ummah. We need to explain to West that for us the personality of Prophet Muhammad Sallāllāhu Alayhi Wa Sallam is dearest to us. The West does not realize our love and affection for our Holy Prophet. This is not the first time that Western countries are playing with the emotions of Muslims. They have been trying to defame Islam and imposing restrictions on Muslims for quite some time. Similarly, incidents like burning of Holy Quran have also been observed. The Cabinet expressed serious concerns over increasing incidents of blasphemy in the world. Foreign Minister is going to raise this issue at OIC forum. Prime Minister is also determined to write letters to head of states of all the Muslim countries on the issue. At this time, only two Muslim leaders namely Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Imran Khan are proactively working to curb Islamophobia. We are trying our level best to develop mutual consensus to protect the honor of our Holy Prophet. There exists hatred for Muslims in the Western countries and there is need to counter it.

Dr. Dost Muhammad (Religious Scholar): There is no denying the fact that every Muslim is in the state of grief and sorrow but the Muslims have consensus that we are ready to sacrifice our lives for the honor of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Sallāllāhu Alayhi Wa Sallam. There is need to adopt a comprehensive strategy in order to avoid such incidents in future. The Muslims must be ready against such conspiracies. We must empower our coming generations with the love for prophet and religion. OIC being an important forum must play its role to warn the world regarding the consequences of Islamophobia. Globally, many Muslims report not feeling respected by those in the West as the Western countries are deeply involved in Islamophobia. Basically, West is afraid of Islam because its teachings are attracting non-Muslims to it. The ultimate goal in countering Islamophobia should be to create a fair and just society for all that values and safeguards the citizens.

Dr. Huma Baqai (IR Expert): The timing of the defence agreement between the United States and India is crucial. This agreement is going to allow the sharing of high-end military technology, classified satellite data and critical information as we are expecting US Presidential elections very soon. Donald Trump wants to get the votes of Indian diaspora in the United States for his presidency. There is a strong Indian lobby playing its role in the US politics. The agreement is aimed to counter China in the region. A new block consisting of the leadership of China and Russia is emerging that can be a threat to the United States. India has hegemonic designs in the region and that is why it is strengthening its strategic alliance with the United States.

Dr. Farooq Hasnat (IR Expert): Such type of agreement was also signed between India and the United States when Barak Obama was American president. Now, just before the new US elections another agreement has been signed between the two countries. China is emerging as an economic power in the world which United States deems a threat. China is the only country that can become a challenge for the United States in race of being the super power. United States is trying to counter China with the Indian support that will also have impact on Pakistan. At the same time, India is also continuously improving its military capacity. Fact is that India can never afford confrontation with China. All South Asian countries other than India are trying to develop strong relations with China that means India is getting isolated in the region. I am looking at a new block going to be established including Turkey, Russia, Iran and Pakistan. It is unfortunate that Middle Eastern countries are prioritizing their relations with the United States.
