IIOJK: 32nd anniversary of Srinagar's Pir Dastgeer massacre observed
May 08, 2024

In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir the 32nd anniversary of the Srinagar's Pir Dastgeer massacre was observed on Wednesday.

On this day in 1991, 18 innocent civilians, including a father and his infant, fell victim to the unprovoked firing by Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force and Border Security Force on thousands of mourners gathered to bury martyred Kashmiris.

The incident, which unfolded in Khanyar, downtown Srinagar, stands as a stark testament to India's unchecked brutality and disregard for human rights in the occupied territory.

Meanwhile, Indian troops continued massive cordon and search operations across various districts today.

This ongoing crackdown marks the fifth consecutive day of intensified operations in Poonch, Rajouri, Udhampur, Kathua, and Doda districts.

Meanwhile, posters displaying statements and images of Pakistan Army Chief, General Asim Munir, surfaced in Srinagar, praising his support for Kashmiris' right to self-determination.

The posters, prominently displayed across Srinagar, call upon the international community to uphold justice and fulfill promises made to Kashmiris under UN resolutions.

On the other hand, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speeches targeting the Muslim community have sparked widespread outrage and complaints across multiple Indian states.
