APHC sounds alarm over worsening plight of Kashmiri detainees in Indian jails
September 09, 2024

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has sounded the alarm over the worsening plight of Kashmiri detainees in Indian jails, demanding their immediate and unconditional release.

In a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC Spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas condemned India's crackdown on Kashmiri voices and warned that the territory is on the brink of catastrophe due to aggressive militarization and silencing of political dissent.

The APHC appealed to the UN to intervene and secure the release of all illegally detained Kashmiris, urging the international community to hold India accountable for its human rights violations in the occupied territory.

Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party leader Mehmood Ahmed Saghar in a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, urged him to prevent India's attempts to stage "so-called state assembly elections" in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, calling it a "farce" that lacks fairness and transparency.
