Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has appealed Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, to prevent India’s attempts to mislead international community by staging sham elections in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

In a letter to the OIC Secretary General, Party’s Acting Chairman, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar called on the OIC to take immediate action to prevent India’s attempts to mislead international community and to work towards a peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute.

Saghar emphasized that the elections cannot substitute for the Kashmiris’ right to a UN-supervised plebiscite or referendum.
