In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, work on the construction of Suki Kinari hydropower project is in progress under China Pakistan Economic Corridor.

A spokesman of Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization told Radio Pakistan Peshawar Correspondent that a Chinese company is constructing the power house on River Kunhar.   

It will be completed at a cost of about two billion dollars by the end of 2022.

The power station on completion will generate eight hundred and seventy Megawatts electricity.

The spokesman added that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will get revenue of one point three billion rupees annually from the project.
