US arms supply to India will be dangerous for regional, int’l peace: Analyst
February 15, 2025

Najamuddin Shaikh (Former Ambassador): India is trying to misguide and mislead the world by overplaying Pakistan’s negative role in a bid to divert world’s attention from its illegal occupation over illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The US supply of weapons to India will create serious power imbalance in South Asia and will be dangerous for regional and international peace and order. The Trump administration must avoid taking such a step. Actually the US wants to contain China through India but it is impossible because India can’t compete or contest China in any respect or sector. Factually India is really concerned with Pakistan and doesn’t consider China as its strategic competitor. We are trying hard to maintain regional power balance in the wake of Indian hegemony related designs. On the other hand Pakistan is a small country and market as compared to India. At present Afghanistan is sole problem for Pakistan and Pakistan will have to face out this problem by itself and no world power is coming to support Pakistan in this regard. Current rulers of Afghanistan don’t want to be recognized by the international community and they have not come up with commitments made by them in agreement with the international community. Unfortunately, Afghanistan considers that Durand Line was imposed on them by British therefore Pakistan need to act carefully. We have to take statement of US Secretary of State seriously because they are least concerned about Afghanistan. They are concerned about Russia and China. Russians are trying to seek some sort of reconciliation with US.
