Experts urge upon Afghan government to not allow its soil to be used against Pakistan
July 15, 2023

Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Raza Muhammad Khan (Defense Analyst): The Army Chief has clearly stated that the terrorist attacks from across the border are unacceptable. Every Pakistani is concerned over the continuation of such cowardly terror attacks. The terrorist attacks are serious issues impacting the Pak-Afghan relations. It is unfortunate that the interim Afghan government is not taking action against the militant organizations operating in the war-torn country which is a clear violation of Doha agreement. Pakistan has time and again told the Afghan government to not allow its soil to the terrorists for their nefarious designs against Pakistan. In my opinion, it is the time that Pakistan utilizes all available resources, including diplomatic pressure and trade boycott, to force Afghanistan to take action against militants.

Dr. A. Z. Hilali (IR Expert): Pakistan is exercising patience against the terrorist acts from the Afghan soil. After the withdrawal of NATO forces from Afghanistan, Pakistan is continuously in contact with the interim Afghan government and has provided evidence to Kabul about the militant organizations operating in Afghanistan. It is the responsibility of the Afghan government to take action against the militants. A large number of Afghan refugees have been residing in Pakistan causing a burden on Pakistan's economy. Moreover, Pakistan is the country that is urging the international community to get engaged with the Afghan government and support the Afghan people in order to avert humanitarian crises. Ethically, the Afghan government needs to reciprocate in the same manner.
