Maqbool Elahi Malik (Senior Journalist): Since the government came into power, it is trying to bring reforms in certain areas necessary to revamp the economy. If we look at the economic agenda of the government, there are two important elements. After the adoption of 18th amendments certain departments were handed over to the provinces. In today’s meeting, the Prime Minister provided a clear roadmap on which departments are going to be retained and which will be shifted to the provinces. Secondly, another important segment is privatization. The non-profitable organizations are becoming a burden on the government and such institutions must be privatized including PIA. Such measures will stabilize the national economy. The government will be offering these organizations to the investors. Another important step that the government is focusing on is restructuring digitization of the national economy through tax collection. The government is determined to carry out the agenda of reforms in FBR to ensure economic stabilization.

Salman Ghani (Senior Journalist): The Prime Minister has clarified that the decision of the Punjab government to provide relief on electricity units is entirely funded by the province's own resources, with no involvement from the federal government. The Punjab government has provided the funds for the purpose from their development funds. The other provinces must also follow the same. The government is determined to comply with the terms and conditions related to the IMF program. In the past, the former government violated the terms and conditions of the IMF program that affected our economy. It is a good development that the Prime Minister has chaired a number of meetings in order to stabilize the economy of the country. The need of the hour is to implement the decisions in full spirit to bring the country out of the crises.
