The authorities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in their fresh attack on religious freedom once again sealed the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, preventing the Muslims from offering Juma prayers, today.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian police locked the gates of the historic mosque from outside and didnot allow people to go inside on the second consecutive Friday.

The action was taken by the authorities out of fear that the Juma congregation at the historic mosque could turn into an anti-Israel and anti-India protest demonstration.

The authorities placed senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and prominent Muslim scholar Agha Syed Mohammad Hadi Al-Moosvi under house arrest.

The authorities also did not allow senior APHC leader, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, to lead an anti-Israel march outside the imambargah in Badgam.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar deplored that the Modi regime has usurped all basic rights including the right to religious freedom of the people of occupied Kashmir.

He urged the international community to play its role in settling the Kashmir dispute so that the Kashmiris can enjoy all rights and freedoms like other free people of the world.
