Brig. (Retd.) Said Nazir (Defense Analyst): I congratulate the new army chief to assume his position. The new army chief is Hafiz-e-Quran and also a thorough professional soldier. The outgoing Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa had a successful tenure during which he handled multiple challenges like terrorism, natural calamities and regional issues. The institution of army has been targeted at social media by some quarters which is very unfortunate. Now, we are having a ray of hope that the new army chief will deliver and keep the army out of politics. The challenges are many but Pakistan Army will overcome these with the support of people. The new army chief is a recipient of sword of honor and he will work with professional acumen and without any weakness.

The new leadership will dispense its duties professionally like their predecessors and will make sure that defense of the country remains impregnable. The system of hierarchy and promotions in Pakistan Army is highly organized and professional. There are regular meetings at various levels in Pakistan Army to discuss professional affairs. The new Army Chief is a thorough gentleman and professional and will take his institution to new heights.
