Naghmana Hashmi (Former Ambassador): Prime Minister has righty pointed out that CPEC is a project that happens in centuries. The project which basically meant to provide connectivity to the whole region will have positive impact on economy of Pakistan. This important project needs to be completed and taken forward with the commitment. In the upcoming 2nd phase of CPEC, Chinese companies are actively exploring opportunities to establish industrial zones within Pakistan, with the aim of generating employment for the Pakistani populace and enhancing their quality of life. Both Pakistan and China are looking forward to expedite the second phase which includes the development of the special economic zones (SEZs).Under the projects of CPEC, one of the areas of cooperation include the use of clean and green energy.

Dr Zahid Anwar Khan (IR Expert): The recent statement of PM Kakar during an interview with Chinese TV is a great reality and a reaffirmation of Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to its friendship with China and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The project which is a pilot project of greater Belt and road initiative will bring prosperity to not only China and Pakistan but to the whole region. The project which is scheduled to be completed by 2030 will improve road and industrial infrastructure in Pakistan. Unfortunately, India is always trying to sabotage the CPEC projects and wants to isolate Pakistan. India should realize that CPEC is not against any third party rather it is an opportunity for the whole region which India should also join this project.
