In India, pro-Khalistani group Dal Khalsa held a protest march at Amritsar’s Golden Temple to mark the 37th anniversary of Operation Blue Star.

Pro-Khalistan supporters brandishing swords, raising freedom slogans and carrying placards of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale demanded ‘Khalistan’, a separate homeland for Sikhs.  

In his address, Sikh preacher Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh has lashed out at the Indian Army and said that they had done injustice to the Sikh community.

Operation Blue Star was carried out by Indian Army between 1st June to 8th June in 1984 on Sikh holy site of Golden Temple by killing thousands of Sikhs.
