Analysts urge Afghan govt to ensure its soil is not used for terrorism activities against neighboring countries
August 10, 2024

Dr. Muhammad Khan (Defense Analyst): Whatever happened in Tirah is really tragic. Everyday our security personnel are sacrificing their lives for the safety and security of the nation. Unfortunately the Afghan government is unable to control the terrorist activities of the militants using Afghan soil for nefarious designs against Pakistan. The recent wave of the terrorism in the country is really concerning. Pakistan is the only country that has been affected badly by the menace of terrorism. The militants are using the modern technology weapons left there by the NATO forces after the withdrawal. Pakistan is working on different strategies to overcome the terrorism including intelligence-based operations against the militants. At this point of time, Pakistan is on the target of militant organizations including TTP, Daesh and others. The war against terrorism was imposed on Pakistan after 9/11. So far we have suffered with huge financial loss and precious lives as well. The new Afghan government must have to take strict actions against the militant organization as it is vital for regional peace and prosperity.

Brig (Retd) Rashid Wali (Defense Analyst): Pakistan shares a long border with Afghanistan and border management is the responsibility of both the countries. The fact is that Afghanistan is not fulfilling its responsibility in securing the border and stopping the cross border movement of the militants. These militants have safe havens in Afghanistan and use Afghan soil for terrorist activities in Pakistan. The civil administration, police and other organizations must also have to play a proactive role in combating terrorism. India is openly facilitating these militants in promoting terrorism. The nexus of RAW and NDS are trying to destabilize Pakistan by all means. The militants have no religion and they prefer their interests.
