In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, five troops, including an army officer have been killed in an attack in the Doda district.  

According to Kashmir Media Service, the attack took place during the ongoing search operation in Desa area of the district.

Indian Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in a statement in New Delhi said the killing is a result of BJP’s wrong policies.

People's Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti in a video message said the Modi-led Indian government is pursuing a communal agenda in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, targeting Muslim employees and religious scholars.

Several people were arrested during ongoing cordon and search operations launched by Indian army, police, and paramilitary forces across Jammu region.

The troops have sealed main areas and roads in Doda, Jammu, Reasi, Rajouri, Poonch, and Udhampur districts of the region and are engaged in violent cordon and search operations.

Meanwhile, the massive Muharram procession in Srinagar transformed into a show of solidarity with Palestinians, with thousands of mourners defying authorities by waving Palestinian flags and chanting anti-Israel slogans.
