The BJP-led Indian government has imposed stringent measures in the name of security in Islamabad, Kulgam, Shopian, Rajouri and Poonch districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir ahead of another round of sham parliamentary elections.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Islamabad-Rajouri parliamentary constituency comprising Islamabad, Kulgam and Shopian districts of Kashmir Valley, and Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu region will go to polls in the sixth phase on Saturday.

The Modi regime has turned the election in the constituency into a military operation, deploying additional forces’ personnel and enhancing surveillance.

The constituency looks like a war zone, with the Indian army troops and the Special Operations Group of police in all districts.

Meanwhile, the occupation authorities once again disallowed senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq from attending Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, today.

Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid in a statement in Srinagar said that it was the 4th consecutive Friday that the Mirwaiz had been prevented from conducting prayers at the historic mosque.

Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti addressing media in south Kashmir’s Bijbehera underscored the need to raise forceful voice against New Delhi’s actions since August 5, 2019 aimed at disempowering the Kashmiri people.
