Dr. A. Z. Hilali (IR Expert): The illegal and unlawful action of India on 5th August, 2019 is totally against international norms and values and also against the Indian constitution. This clearly shows that New Delhi could not attain its objective of suppressing the indigenous struggle of Kashmiris for their right to self-determination despite using all brutal tactics. Kashmiri people have rendered numerous sacrifices for their inherent right to freedom and will never compromise on it. India cannot hoodwink the international community anymore. The world should put pressure on India to stop its massive human rights abuses in IIOJ&K.
Syed Faiz Naqshbandi (Hurriyet Leader): In the history of Kashmir, 27 October is considered the blackest day when Indian troops entered into the valley and illegally occupied it. After that 5th August is the Black Day when India unilaterally abrogated article 370 and 35-A. The main purpose was to change the demography of the occupied valley which is totally against the international laws and UN resolutions. After this illegal move, the Indian government has started issuing domiciles to Hindus to make them citizens of the occupied valley. Despite all the Indian tactics, the Kashmiris are determined and will never step back from their fundamental right to self-determination. The world needs to take notice of Indian atrocities and human rights abuses in IIOJ&K and force New Delhi to stop the use of brutal force against the innocent Kashmiris.
Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Naeem Khalid Lodhi (Defense Analyst): Pakistan has a long-standing narrative that there is no military solution to Afghan conflict. A famous quote says never try to clarify as the friends do not need it and the enemies do not believe it. Some elements have been trying to malign Pakistan but we should not be bothered by them and continue playing our role for peaceful and stable Afghanistan. Present administration of Afghanistan is no more representative of their people and is blaming Pakistan at the behest of India. The United States spent twenty years in Afghanistan but in the end returned defeated.
Aqeel Yousafzai (Expert on Afghan Affairs): Prevailing situation in Afghanistan is very critical as the Afghan Taliban are advancing towards the Afghan capital. The situation may lead to anarchy and civil war in the already war torn country. There is a lack of communication and coordination between Afghan government and regional departments. At this point of time, Afghan Taliban have the upper hand which has been made possible due to failure of the policies of Afghan government and early withdrawal of NATO troops. The government of Ashraf Ghani is only focused on playing blame games against Pakistan. The Afghan NSA in an interview admitted that Afghan forces are not capable enough of fighting against the Taliban. It means the United States never paid attention on training the Afghan forces. The world has acknowledged the role of Pakistan in convincing Afghan Taliban to come to the negotiation table whereas the Afghan government is leaving no space unturned to malign Islamabad.
